Traveling without a valid ticket

What happens if you're caught without a ticket?

Our ticket inspectors carry out regular checks on all buses and trams. Anyone found without a valid ticket is required to pay an increased transport fee (EBE). This regulation is standardized nationwide and ensures fairness for all paying passengers.

Increased Transport Fee (EBE)
60,00 €per incident

According to § 12 of the transport conditions. If a valid subscription is presented within 7 days of the inspection, the fee may be reduced to €7.00.

How to avoid problems

Buy your ticket before boarding – at the stop, via the app, or from the driver.
Validate your ticket immediately upon boarding at the ticket validator.
Always keep your ticket or subscription ready for inspections.
For subscription cards: Don't forget to carry a photo ID with you.
